The Art of Window Painting Chapter Preview

Window Design Layout:
This chapter gives you the basic concepts of layout…how to make your window design appealing and effective…things to avoid…shortcuts and trade secrets. Many of the artist’s photographs are used to clarify these concepts.

Window Lettering:
Addresses types of lettering and tips on fancy or plain letters, when to use them, when not to use them. Information is given on how to make an artistic statement even with letters. Photos and drawings are used as aids to understanding.

Spacing:
Explains how to achieve good spacing and includes an excellent visual on how to space different combinations of letters. It explains how to deal with unpainted areas (or dead space) and the absolute necessity of good spacing to a window advertisement and more.

Color:
Gives information on mixing colors and coordinating opposites, the positive and negative aspects of using a lot of color, and how to balance the use of a lot of color.
